  Exhibition on Genetically Modified Crops    ( Saturday, 17 th January, 2026 ) ·          Department of Botany along with students from B. Sc. Part III organized an educational exhibition to create awareness about genetically modified (GM) crops, focusing on their advantages and disadvantages. Special emphasis was given to discussing both positive and negative aspects. The exhibition highlighted benefits such as reduced pesticide use, improved crop productivity, and enhanced  nutritional quality. At the same time, it also addressed concerns like environmental risks, gene flow, resistance development in pests, ethical issues, and possible long-term health effects. The programme was interactive in nature. Visitors, including students from other departments and local farmers, asked questions and engaged in discussions. This helped in clearing misconceptions and promoting scientific awareness about biotechnology in agriculture. ...

 

 

On 25 August 2025, Our department published a wallpaper featuring plants used in Ganesh Puja (गणेशपत्री ). Students of Botany department organised a wallpaper as a part of awareness campaign. They prepared beautiful wallpaper combining cultural, spiritual and scientific views about plants used in Ganesh puja. In all 21 plants were highlighted along with their botanical information and medicinal value. Details of the Programme: 1.       Introduction: Dr. P. B.
